A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's libnvdimm subsystem was resolved that involved an integer overflow in the __nd_label_validate() function. This overflow could cause an out-of-bounds write due to incorrect bounds checking of a namespace index field read from DIMM label storage. The issue arises because a 32-bit multiplication wraps around, allowing crafted input to bypass validation and cause memory corruption.
