A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF subsystem related to preemption handling in __bpf_get_stack was resolved. The issue involved a race condition where a preemptible BPF program could be scheduled out after obtaining a per-CPU perf_callchain_entry buffer but before copying it, allowing another task to overwrite the buffer and cause an out-of-bounds write. The fix disables preemption around the critical section to prevent reuse of the buffer and bounds trace->nr by max_depth.
