A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to block device drivers has been resolved. The issue involved improper validation of user space vectors during extraction, where bio-based drivers did not always check alignment splits and stacking block drivers sometimes failed to handle misalignment after bio submission. The fix involves validating user vectors against the device's dma_alignment during bio construction, rejecting misaligned vectors early with an error code.
