A race condition in the Linux kernel's fsnotify subsystem could cause stale event masks after concurrent updates to fanotify or inotify marks. This results in missed event notifications such as FAN_MODIFY or IN_MODIFY under certain concurrent operations. The issue was reproduced on kernel version 6.12.95 and involves improper recalculation of object masks during concurrent mark updates.
