A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's eCryptfs component was resolved involving improper locking when cleaning the daemon queue. The function ecryptfs_exorcise_daemon() dropped queued messages without holding the required lock, which could lead to race conditions. The fix involves holding the list lock while moving queued contexts back to the free list to prevent races with other users of the global message context list.
