A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Ceph filesystem implementation allows a malicious or compromised metadata server to cause an out-of-bounds read during extended attribute (xattr) processing. Specifically, the final xattr value length is not properly checked against the blob bounds, leading to potential disclosure of adjacent kernel heap memory to a local user via getxattr(2). This issue has been resolved by adding a bounds check that prevents decoding of oversized attribute values.
