A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's libceph component involving CRUSH bucket ID handling has been resolved. The flaw allowed malformed CRUSH maps to cause out-of-bounds writes in memory by reusing workspace buffers incorrectly. This occurs when the encoded bucket ID does not match the expected array slot, leading to a write past the allocated buffer in bucket_perm_choose(). The fix enforces rejecting buckets with mismatched CRUSH IDs, restoring expected invariants without affecting valid maps.
