A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NFS daemon (nfsd) related to layout fence worker double-reference has been resolved. The issue involves improper handling of workqueue state leading to a reference count leak of the layout stateid. The fix replaces a racy check with an atomic boolean flag protected by a lock to prevent duplicate references and resource leaks.
