The issue arises from reading a delegation file pointer without proper locking, which can lead to a BUG_ON condition triggered by concurrent delegation revokes. This race condition can be triggered by two NFS clients interacting with the same file delegation and recall process. The fix involves adding proper locking and replacing the BUG_ON with an error return to handle the race gracefully.
