A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NFS daemon (nfsd) tracepoints nfsd_fh_verify and nfsd_fh_verify_err caused a buffer overflow or information leak due to mismatched sizing of a server sockaddr slot. This flaw occurs when the size used for copying data (xpt_locallen) exceeds the reserved buffer size (xpt_remotelen), leading to a write past the buffer end. The issue affects NFSv2/v3 over UDP. The vulnerability has been fixed by adjusting the buffer size to match the copy length. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 09/11/2026, 21:31:37 UTC Added: 09/12/2026, 00:42:35 UTC |
