A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's media subsystem for the stm32 CEC driver allows an out-of-bounds write due to improper bounds checking on received bytes. The driver increments a length index without verifying it against the fixed buffer size, enabling a remote CEC device to overflow the buffer by sending excessive bytes. This flaw can be triggered from the IRQ thread without local privileges once the driver is enabled. The issue was found by static analysis and has been resolved by adding proper bounds checking before storing bytes.
