A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel tracing subsystem was fixed. The issue occurs when two histogram triggers with the same name are registered on different events, leading to a dangling pointer and kernel panic when a later trigger accesses freed memory. This can be triggered from userspace by writing specific hist triggers to tracefs, causing a kernel panic due to a slab-use-after-free error.
