A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nvme-apple driver was resolved by ensuring the admin queue is properly destroyed on controller removal. The issue occurs because the admin queue allocated with blk_mq_alloc_queue() was never destroyed, leading to a kernel panic when the controller fails to initialize and is torn down immediately. This flaw could cause a kernel oops and panic on affected Apple Mac mini (M1, 2020) hardware. The vulnerability has been fixed by unquiescing and destroying the admin queue before controller uninitialization.
