A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iommu/vt-d component was resolved that involved improper clearing of the Present bit before tearing down a copied context entry. This flaw could cause hardware to fetch partially zeroed context entries while the Present bit remained set, potentially leading to unpredictable behavior or spurious faults. The issue stems from write ordering and lack of cacheline flush before invalidation, which can cause hardware to see inconsistent context data.
