A concurrency vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iommu/dma subsystem was resolved by restoring a locking mechanism around the msi_page_list. The flaw allowed concurrent access to a shared data structure in certain configurations involving VFIO type1 legacy containers and merged IOMMU domains, potentially leading to corruption. This issue was fixed by reintroducing a static lock to protect this corner case.
