A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Btrfs zoned filesystem code could cause corruption of the extent tree due to improper zeroing of an extent buffer that is still referenced in memory. This flaw leads to invalid header data being read and can cause assertion failures or aborts. The issue has been resolved by changing the zeroing method to avoid overwriting the in-memory buffer.
