A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IB/isert component was resolved, involving the timing of posting full-feature receive buffers relative to session registration. The flaw allowed an initiator that does not wait for the final Login Response to cause a kernel oops by executing a SCSI command against an improperly initialized session. The fix moves the posting of receive buffers to a safer point in the login sequence, preventing this race condition.
