A race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's blk-cgroup subsystem has been resolved. The flaw occurs during IO scheduler switching on a block device, where concurrent policy activation and blkcg deletion can lead to use-after-free and memory leak issues. This happens due to improper synchronization between blkcg_activate_policy() rollback and blkg destruction, causing access to freed memory. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS score of 7.8. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 09/17/2026, 18:32:01 UTC Added: 09/19/2026, 01:27:57 UTC |
