A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ath12k WiFi driver involves out-of-bounds reads in the function ath12k_wmi_process_csa_switch_count_event(). The issue arises because the parse infrastructure lacks a policy entry enforcing minimum length for a specific event struct, and the num_vdevs field from firmware is used unchecked as a loop bound. This can lead to reading beyond the intended memory bounds. The vulnerability has been resolved by adding a TLV policy entry and bounding the loop using the payload length.
