A critical vulnerability in the Linux kernel's IB/isert iSCSI RDMA target implementation allows a malicious initiator to cause out-of-bounds reads by declaring more data in login PDUs than actually received. This flaw occurs because the code does not verify that the declared DataSegmentLength in the login PDU header matches the actual received data length, leading to potential kernel memory corruption before authentication. The issue affects the handling of login PDUs in isert and was reproducible under KASAN. The vulnerability has been resolved by adding checks to reject login PDUs where the declared length exceeds the received data length.
