A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's RDMA core component (ib_dealloc_pd_user) has been resolved. The flaw involved a timing issue where a protection domain (PD) could be accessed after its resources were freed, due to improper synchronization in the restrack lifecycle management. This could lead to high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The fix moves the restrack removal call to the start of the deallocation process, preventing new references to a PD being destroyed.
