A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's page_pool subsystem was resolved. The issue occurs in the function page_pool_recycle_ring_bulk() when CONFIG_PAGE_POOL_STATS=y is enabled. The vulnerability arises because recycle stats are updated after releasing a lock, allowing the pool to be freed prematurely, leading to a use-after-free condition. The fix involved moving the stats update back under the lock to prevent this race condition. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 10/18/2026, 18:32:04 UTC Added: 10/18/2026, 19:40:26 UTC |
