A use-after-free vulnerability was identified and resolved in the Linux kernel's netpoll shutdown path. The issue arises because the cleanup process does not properly wait for a pending TX worker to finish, allowing the worker to access freed memory. The fix involves using disable_delayed_work_sync() to ensure the worker is fully stopped before freeing memory, preventing any further work from being queued. This vulnerability was detected by KASAN and involves a race condition between cleanup and worker execution.
