ILIAS versions prior to 9.22, 10.10, and 11.3 contain an unauthenticated PHP object injection vulnerability. This flaw allows attackers to inject serialized objects through the LTI authentication endpoint and trigger deserialization via the Shibboleth back-channel logout endpoint. Exploitation can lead to remote code execution as the web server user by writing attacker-controlled PHP content to a web-accessible path.

CVE-2026-80428 is a critical unauthenticated PHP object injection vulnerability affecting ILIAS eLearning software versions before 9.22, 10.10, and 11.3. Attackers can inject serialized objects into session storage via the LTI authentication endpoint and exploit an available POP gadget during deserialization triggered by the Shibboleth back-channel logout endpoint. This unrestricted deserialization enables writing of attacker-controlled PHP code to a web-accessible location, resulting in remote code execution with the privileges of the web server user.
