The issue involved improper pinning of the source page as read-only when KVM writes back corrected CPUID information, potentially causing writes to read-only memory. Well-behaved virtual machine monitors (VMMs) are unlikely to be affected since CPUID data is typically dynamically generated and not backed by read-only mappings. No known exploits are reported in the wild. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/25/2026, 12:31:29 UTC Added: 07/25/2026, 23:09:02 UTC |
