A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory management swap subsystem was resolved by adding periodic cond_resched() calls in the swap_reclaim_full_clusters function to prevent softlockup conditions. The issue was discovered during an internal stress test involving heavy memory and swap usage on a large ARM64 system. The vulnerability could cause the kernel to become unresponsive (softlockup) under specific high-load conditions involving swap reclaim operations.
