A local privilege escalation vulnerability exists in NetworkManager's dhclient backend when processing malformed Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) URLs. This flaw allows a local user to escalate privileges by triggering a script via a crafted MUD URL, but only if an administrator has explicitly configured NetworkManager to use dhclient. Default configurations of NetworkManager are not affected. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 6.7, indicating a medium severity level.
