Netty versions prior to 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final contain a vulnerability in the Bzip2Decoder handler that allows a denial-of-service (DoS) attack. The vulnerability is triggered by processing a malformed bzip2 stream, causing the event-loop thread to enter an infinite loop due to a flaw in the run-length encoding state machine. This issue has been fixed in versions 4.1.136.Final and 4.2.16.Final. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/29/2026, 18:16:00 UTC Added: 07/22/2026, 23:22:59 UTC |
