A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's XFRM subsystem was resolved, where MIGRATE notifications were incorrectly routed to the initial network namespace (init_net) rather than the caller's network namespace. This caused migration notifications to be delivered to listeners in the init_net namespace instead of the originating netns, potentially leaking migration events across namespaces. The issue was fixed by correcting the multicast routing to respect the caller's netns. The vulnerability affects multiple Linux kernel versions prior to 7.0.0-28.28~24.04.1 and others listed. A patch is available and included in recent Ubuntu kernel updates. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/20/2026, 00:00:00 UTC Added: 07/19/2026, 19:38:19 UTC |
