A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's SMC (Shared Memory Communications) subsystem was resolved, where re-initialization of smc hashtables could corrupt active hash entries. This flaw could lead to a corrupted list due to resetting hash tables that were already in use. The issue was fixed by removing the unnecessary re-initialization in the smc_init function. The vulnerability affects Linux Azure kernel versions prior to specific 7.0.0 builds. A patch is available and should be applied to mitigate the risk.
