A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's HID multitouch subsystem allowed out-of-bounds bit access on the mt_io_flags variable. This flaw occurred because mt_io_flags, a single unsigned long, was incorrectly used as a per-slot bitmap indexed by the device's maxcontacts value, which can be up to 255, exceeding the bit width of mt_io_flags. This caused memory corruption of adjacent struct members, potentially leading to system compromise. The issue has been fixed in updated Linux kernel packages.
