A double-free vulnerability exists in 389-ds-base 3.x in the get_ldapmessage_controls_ext() function when handling a critical Session Tracking control during an unauthenticated BIND request. This can cause heap corruption and potentially lead to denial of service. The issue primarily affects builds using the glibc allocator; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and RHDS 13 use jemalloc, which mitigates crashing.
