AI-suggested
Red Hat has released Keycloak build 26.6.8 containing multiple security fixes. However, the vendor advisory does not explicitly confirm that CVE-2026-94000 is fixed in this release. Users should verify the patch status with the official Red Hat advisory and apply updates accordingly. Until a confirmed fix is applied, restrict delegated administrator permissions and monitor group membership changes carefully.
Description
A vulnerability in the Admin REST API of Keycloak allows a delegated administrator with limited permissions to add themselves to a high-privilege group without proper authorization checks. This flaw exists in the group-membership endpoints where the system fails to verify if a group grants administrative privileges before permitting user additions. Exploiting this issue could lead to privilege escalation, granting full control over the entire realm.
