Until a fix is available, avoid processing untrusted BMP files with affected versions of the SAIL Image Decoding Library.

Description

A memory corruption vulnerability in the BMPv3 image decoding functionality of the SAIL Image Decoding Library v0.9.8 and related versions allows an attacker to trigger an integer overflow when calculating the stride for decoding a specially crafted BMP file. This leads to a heap-based buffer overflow, potentially enabling remote code execution if the attacker convinces the library to read a malicious file.
