AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, restrict API access to trusted users only and monitor for unusual API activity. Apply principle of least privilege to user roles to minimize exposure. Review vendor advisories regularly for updates and patches addressing CVE-2024-42327.

Description

An SQL injection vulnerability exists in the Zabbix frontend affecting non-admin users with API access, including those with the default User role. The flaw is in the CUser class's addRelatedObjects function, which is called by the CUser.get function accessible to all users with API permissions. This vulnerability allows an attacker with low privileges to execute arbitrary SQL commands, potentially leading to full compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. The vulnerability has a critical CVSS score of 9.9 and public exploit code is available.
