The maintainer fixed the issue in private repository versions intended for localhost use only. Users should discontinue use of Travisun Opptrix 0.4.0 and migrate to supported alternatives.
Description
A vulnerability has been found in Travisun Opptrix 0.4.0. This impacts an unknown function of the file /api/system-update/import of the component Import Endpoint. Such manipulation leads to code injection. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. The project has been completely taken offline and deprecated. The project maintainer explains: "The mentioned security risk was a design flaw that manifested primarily in local environments during earlier stages of version development. We previously addressed and resolved this specific risk; however, because the project was restricted to a small learning scope and the main versions were intended to run exclusively on localhost, the security fix was only pushed directly to our GitHub repository before it went private." This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.
Impact
The vulnerability enables remote attackers to inject and execute code via the affected import endpoint, potentially compromising confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the system. However, since the product is deprecated, unsupported, and intended for local use, the practical impact is limited to legacy or experimental deployments. No known active exploitation in the wild has been reported.
Summary
CVE-2026-115970 describes a code injection vulnerability in Travisun Opptrix version 0.4.0, specifically in the Import Endpoint at /api/system-update/import. This flaw stems from a design issue that was mainly relevant in local development environments. Although the maintainer fixed the vulnerability in later versions pushed privately to GitHub, these versions were intended for localhost use and the project has since been deprecated and taken offline. The vulnerability allows remote code injection, and public exploit information is available, but no active exploitation has been confirmed.

Class weaknessLikelihood of exploit: HighOWASP Top 10 A05:2025: Injection (opens in a new tab)
The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.
MITRE discourages mapping vulnerabilities to this broad entry; the root cause is usually a more specific weakness.
