Users should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is released, restricting network access to the affected device and disabling the vulnerable HTTP handler if possible may reduce exposure. Given the availability of public exploit code, prompt action is advised once a patch is provided.

Description

A critical buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the D-Link DI-8100 firmware version 16.07.26A1. The flaw is in the sprintf function within the /auto_reboot.asp HTTP handler component, where manipulation of the enable/time argument can cause memory corruption. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely without authentication. Public exploit code is available, increasing the risk of attack.
