What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is released, users should avoid processing untrusted or malformed VRML files to mitigate risk.

Description

A denial of service vulnerability exists in the VRML V2.0 parser component of Open CASCADE Technology (OCCT) version V8_0_0_rc5. The flaw arises from improper handling of malformed VRML files, which can cause a corrupt or unvalidated pointer dereference during shape construction in the VrmlData_IndexedFaceSet::TShape function within libTKDEVRML.so.
