AI-suggested

Users should upgrade Blender to version 4.5.15 or later, or 5.2.3 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. Since fixed versions are explicitly stated, applying these official patches will remediate the issue.

Description

Blender versions before 4.5.15 and 5.x before 5.2.3 contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the blo_bhead_id_* accessors within readfile.cc. This flaw allows crafted .blend files with short ID blocks to cause heap over-reads, potentially leading to application crashes or disclosure of heap memory.
