Technical Analysis

CVE-2024-0910 is a CWE-200 (Exposure of Sensitive Information) vulnerability in the Restrict for Elementor WordPress plugin. Versions up to and including 1.0.7 improperly restrict access to hidden data, making it accessible through the REST API to unauthenticated users. This flaw allows extraction of potentially sensitive information from post content without requiring authentication or user interaction. The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.1 base score of 5.3, reflecting a network attack vector with low complexity and no privileges required.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can retrieve sensitive information from post content via the REST API due to insufficient access controls. The impact is limited to confidentiality loss; there is no impact on data integrity or availability. No known exploits are reported in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until an official fix is available, consider restricting or disabling the REST API endpoints related to the plugin or implementing additional access controls to limit exposure of sensitive data.
