Technical Analysis

CVE-2024-10527 is a missing authorization vulnerability in the Spacer WordPress plugin by clevelandwebdeveloper. The issue arises because the motech_spacer_callback() function does not perform proper capability checks, allowing authenticated users with low privileges (Subscriber and above) to access certain plugin settings data. This vulnerability affects all versions up to and including 3.0.7. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 3.1, reflecting a network attack vector, high attack complexity, low privileges required, no user interaction, unchanged scope, and limited confidentiality impact.

Potential Impact

An attacker with authenticated Subscriber-level access or higher can view limited configuration or setting information from the Spacer plugin. This exposure does not affect data integrity or availability and is limited to confidentiality impact. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently documented for this vulnerability. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict Subscriber-level access to trusted users only and monitor for plugin updates that address this issue.
