What to do

AI-suggested

Until an official patch is released, organizations should implement the following mitigations: 1) Restrict network access to the WukongCRM application, especially from untrusted external sources, using firewalls or network segmentation. 2) Monitor network traffic and application logs for unusual or suspicious JSON payloads targeting the parseObject() function. 3) Disable or limit the use of fastjson deserialization where possible, or replace it with safer JSON parsing libraries that do not allow arbitrary code execution. 4) Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block malicious deserialization attempts. 5) Conduct thorough security assessments and penetration tests focusing on deserialization vulnerabilities in the CRM environment. 6) Prepare for rapid patch deployment once the vendor releases an update by maintaining an inventory of affected systems. 7) Educate development and operations teams about the risks of unsafe deserialization and secure coding practices to prevent similar issues in the future.

Description

An issue in WuKongOpenSource WukongCRM v.72crm_9.0.1_20191202 allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the parseObject() function in the fastjson component.
