AI-suggested
To mitigate CVE-2024-25873, organizations should first verify if they are running Enhavo version 0.13.1 or earlier and monitor for official patches or updates from the Enhavo development team. In the absence of an official patch, implement strict input validation and sanitization on the Author text field within the Blockquote module to neutralize any HTML or script tags. Employ output encoding techniques to ensure that any user-supplied content is rendered as plain text rather than executable code. Restrict user privileges to the minimum necessary, especially limiting who can input data into vulnerable fields. Conduct regular security audits and code reviews focusing on user input handling. Additionally, implement Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to reduce the impact of injected scripts. Monitoring web application logs for unusual activity related to the Blockquote module can help detect attempted exploitation. Finally, educate developers and administrators about secure coding practices to prevent similar vulnerabilities.
Description
Enhavo v0.13.1 was discovered to contain an HTML injection vulnerability in the Author text field under the Blockquote module. This vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted payload.
