AI-suggested
Until an official patch is released by Friendica developers, organizations should implement several specific mitigations: 1) Restrict network access to the Friendica calendar feature by using firewalls or network segmentation to limit exposure to trusted users only. 2) Disable or restrict the calendar event functionality if it is not essential to reduce the attack surface. 3) Monitor logs and network traffic for unusual or unauthorized access attempts targeting the 'cid' parameter or calendar endpoints. 4) Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block suspicious requests manipulating the 'cid' parameter. 5) Conduct regular security audits and penetration testing focused on authorization and permission controls within Friendica. 6) Stay informed on updates from Friendica’s security advisories and apply patches immediately upon release. 7) Educate users and administrators about the risks and signs of exploitation to enhance detection and response capabilities.
Description
Insecure Permissions vulnerability in Friendica v.2023.12 allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information and execute arbitrary code via the cid parameter of the calendar event feature.
