AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-28715, organizations should first check for any official patches or updates from DOraCMS and apply them promptly once available. In the absence of patches, implement strict input validation and output encoding on all user-supplied data, especially within the markdown0 function and related endpoints. Employ Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to restrict the execution of unauthorized scripts in browsers. Regularly audit and sanitize content generated through markdown or similar functions to prevent injection of malicious code. Limit user privileges to reduce the impact of potential XSS attacks and monitor web application logs for suspicious activities indicative of exploitation attempts. Additionally, educate users about the risks of clicking unknown links or interacting with untrusted content. Consider deploying Web Application Firewalls (WAFs) with rules tailored to detect and block XSS payloads targeting DOraCMS endpoints. Finally, maintain an incident response plan to quickly address any exploitation events.

Description

Cross Site Scripting vulnerability in DOraCMS v.2.18 and before allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code via the markdown0 function in the /app/public/apidoc/oas3/wrap-components/markdown.jsx endpoint.
