What to do

AI-suggested

  1. Implement strict input validation on the 'membershipType' parameter to allow only expected values and reject or sanitize any unexpected input.
  2. Apply context-aware output encoding/escaping on all user-supplied data before rendering it in the web page to prevent script execution.
  3. Employ Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to restrict the execution of unauthorized scripts.
  4. Enforce the principle of least privilege for user accounts to limit the impact of compromised accounts.
  5. Conduct regular security code reviews and penetration testing focused on injection flaws.
  6. Monitor application logs for suspicious activities related to the vulnerable parameter.
  7. If possible, isolate or sandbox the vulnerable component until a patch is available.
  8. Educate developers on secure coding practices to prevent similar vulnerabilities in future releases.
  9. Engage with the vendor or community to obtain or request a security patch promptly.
