AI-suggested

Organizations should immediately audit their Public CMS installations to identify affected versions, specifically version 4.0.202302.e. Until an official patch is released, implement strict access controls on the /admin/cmsTemplate/savePlaceMetaData endpoint, restricting it to trusted administrators and internal networks only. Employ web application firewalls (WAFs) with custom rules to detect and block suspicious file upload patterns and directory traversal attempts. Conduct thorough input validation and sanitization on all file uploads, ensuring only allowed file types and safe paths are accepted. Monitor server logs for unusual upload activity and signs of exploitation attempts. Consider deploying intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) tuned for this vulnerability. Regularly back up critical data and test restoration procedures to minimize impact in case of compromise. Stay informed about vendor updates and apply official patches promptly once available.
