What to do

AI-suggested

To mitigate CVE-2024-42770, organizations should implement strict input validation and output encoding on the "user_email" parameter and any other user-supplied data fields. Specifically, the application should sanitize inputs to remove or neutralize HTML and JavaScript code before storing or rendering them. Employing a robust web application firewall (WAF) with rules to detect and block XSS payloads can provide an additional layer of defense. Developers should adopt secure coding practices such as using context-aware encoding libraries (e.g., OWASP Java Encoder or similar) and frameworks that automatically handle output encoding. Regular security testing, including automated scanning and manual penetration testing focused on XSS, is recommended to identify and remediate similar issues. User education to recognize suspicious behavior and limiting user privileges can also reduce the impact of exploitation.

Description

A Stored Cross Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was found in "/core/signup_user.php" of Kashipara Hotel Management System v1.0, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via the "user_email" parameter.
