What to do
AI-suggested
- Implement strict input validation and output encoding on the 'page' parameter to neutralize malicious scripts before rendering.
- Employ Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to restrict the execution of unauthorized scripts in browsers.
- Educate users about the risks of clicking untrusted links, especially those purporting to be from the Kashipara system.
- Monitor web server logs for suspicious requests containing script payloads targeting the 'page' parameter.
- Restrict privileges for users to the minimum necessary to reduce the impact of exploitation.
- Use web application firewalls (WAFs) with rules designed to detect and block reflected XSS attempts targeting this endpoint.
- Coordinate with the vendor or development team to obtain or develop a patch that properly sanitizes input.
- Regularly update and audit the application and its dependencies to identify and remediate similar vulnerabilities proactively.
