Description
CVE-2024-45776 is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in grub2 occurring during the processing of language .mo files. The flaw arises from an integer overflow in buffer size calculation within grub_mofile_open(), which can lead to out-of-bounds reads and writes. Exploitation may allow an attacker to leak sensitive data or overwrite critical data, potentially bypassing secure boot protections. A security update addressing this issue is available from Red Hat for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.
